I bought my house a couple of years back and it's got one of those complicated heating systems. I was a technician at the phone company, but I have absolutely no clue what to do with something like this. The system itself has always made a lot of noise, but I didn't have a clue anything was wrong because I don't know what's normal.  I took pics of my system and got 4 referrals from Yelp to companies that might be able to work on it. The first 3 sent back messages that they weren't equipped to work on my system, so I appreciated getting a response. Redwire sent back word that they could take a look at it.  I called them back and explained what was going on - noise, no heat, etc. i also explained that my health hasn't been great lately, and my place was FREEZING COLD. The technician from Pacific Gas & Electric had advised that he didn't feel that the system was safe when he inspected it, so I had taken his advice and shut it down.  The lady on the phone scheduled me for the soonest appointment that they had available. Their technician, Alan, came out to check out my system and advise me how to proceed.  Alan did a lot of testing on my system and was able to diagnose the problem. I needed to replace an expensive component and although they could get the part and change it out, the component itself was very expensive. He did some more testing and managed to get my heater up and running, but he was clear with me that the component was going to fail and the timing of this wasn't known since the extent of the damage (to the circuitboard of the component) made it unpredictable.  Alan was able to do some adjustments to get the system up and working again and I was very appreciative. He also gave me an exact cost of the part and the repairs on the spot so that I could plan ahead to get the work done once I had the funds available.  The system has never worked particularly great, it's always been really noisy and hit or miss on the temperature. I give Alan and RedWire two thumbs up because the system has been more consistent and works better than it ever has since I moved into the house after Alan had adjusted it for me. I highly recommend RedWire will definitely be using their services to replace the part once I have the money available in my budget! Our Nest thermostat as well as our heating randomly turned off so I was looking for a professional to help diagnose/fix our issue. Redwire HVAC really stood out with very quick and professional responses and was available to send someone out that same day. They quoted $69 to run diagnostics which is more fair than a lot of other companies in the same area.
My husband was home to welcome Alan who went straight to work. It turns out that somehow our "kill switch" in the furnace was hit and it stopped powering our thermostat and heater. Alan was really honest and upfront about the super easy (and somewhat embarassing) fix and did not charge the $69 since he stated he didn't have to actually do any diagnostics!

Alan came by on short notice to fix our A/C. It was a few days before a head wave so we really needed high quality support urgently. He fixed everything and did some troubleshooting on the wiring inside the house to optimize the system. And he didn't charge me for it!

Definitely going to use them again in the future (although I hope we don't need to).

We've hired Redwire HVAC to fix our old gas heater and install a new heat pump afterwards. Alan is a great to work with, he is very responsive and reliable. With the heat pump installation we also upgraded all duct work to be up to code. It was a pretty big job which took 7 days to complete. We're very happy with results and everything has been working great.
